Our Rangeland Services
Cedar and Tree Removal
We provide a range of services to address woody encroachment on your land. We can mulch, cut and pile, or any desired combination of treatment for cedar or other woody species that are taking over your grassland. We’re also experienced with leaving standing killed trees for habitat while preventing continued seed spread. Common techniques we use to improve habitat include: frilling, basal bark treatment, hack & squirt, and cut & treat.
Invasive Plant Control
We use multispectral drone imagery and on-the-ground “truthing” to identify invasive species and create customized treatment plans.
We provide targeted herbicide application by land or air for species such as phragmites, loosestrife, leafy spurge, and musk thistle. Our drones, ATVs, and foot patrols help minimize overspray and reduce costs.
After treatment, comparison drone imagery helps measure results and show the effectiveness of your plan.
Prescribed Fire Planning and Preparation
Regular burning is essential in managing eastern red cedar, particularly when the seed source is beyond your control. Fire can enhance weight gains on cattle, alter grazing patterns, and reduce wildfire fuel loads. We can help with designing a burn plan for your ranch and prepare your firebreaks and woody fuels for subsequent prescribed or wildfires. Having a burn plan in place makes prescribed fire easier and safer for everyone, reduces likelihood of escaped fire, and ensures you’re following Nebraska law.
