Midplains Ag

2025 Annual Farmer Meeting

Welcome to 2025!

Although we’re just in the early days of January, at Midplains Ag, we are already busy preparing for the upcoming March 15th crop insurance enrollment deadline. Our team is working diligently to build relationships with new clients who were previously insured by Lordemann Insurance, organizing our annual client meeting, and attending AIP (Approved Insurance Provider) update meetings. These sessions, with AgriSompo, FMH, and RCIS, provide us with vital updates on any changes to crop insurance. This information enables us to collaborate with you in selecting the most appropriate policy for your 2025 growing season.

Planning for 2025

In planning our annual meeting, we understand many of the questions you may have regarding risk management for the 2025 year. We share the same concerns as we assess the market outlook. With the challenges of declining prices, rising input costs, and overall inflation in 2024, what does 2025 hold? Here are some of the key questions we’ll address:

  • What is the outlook for crop prices?
  • How should grain be marketed?
  • What trends are emerging in input prices?
  • Which crop insurance policies best suit your needs?
  • Where does County ARC fit into the picture?
  • With the increased subsidy, does ECO make sense?
  • How does SCO impact your strategy?
  • What changes are expected in hail and wind insurance coverage?

Annual Meeting – February 11th, 2025

These questions and more will be addressed at our meeting on February 11th, 2025. Our guest speakers include:

  • Ben Buckner from AgResources, who will provide an overview of global factors impacting crop prices.
  • Jeff Jones from Cargill, who will discuss marketing programs available through Cargill.
  • John Ferguson from Ferguson Ag, who will provide insights on farm input trends.
  • Representatives from Farmers Mutual Hail, RCIS, and AgriSompo will discuss crop insurance updates.

The meeting will be held in the north conference room of our barn at 51518 836 Rd, Elgin, starting at 12:00 PM. A complimentary lunch will be provided, followed by the presentations, which will last approximately two hours. Afterward, Austin will lead a tour of our drone room, and Devon will share updates on our expanding agronomy program, including SWATmaps.

2024 Production Reports

As we move into the busy spring season, we encourage you to complete your 2024 production report early. Submitting these reports ahead of schedule allows us ample time to ensure all information is correctly processed for your operation.

We look forward to seeing you at the farm on February 11th!
